  • Earlier this year, it emerged that personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries had been leaked online. The leaked data comprises personal information such as names, Facebook ID, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, names of workplaces, date of birth, date of account creation, relationship status and bio

Tax abuse

  • According to a Tax Justice Network report, $427 billion is the levy lost every year to tax abuse, committed by multilateral corporations and wealthy individuals.
  • India’s annual tax loss due to corporate tax abuse is estimated at over $10 billion, as per the report.

Tax

  • Export data brought cheer, with exports for March exceeding $34 billion, showing a 58 per cent year-on-year rise. This growth came with a rise in exports of 28 of a total 30 product groups. If this trend sustains the annual merchandise exports can cross $400 billion next year.
