    The study reported that the richest 1% of the population in India owns more than four times the wealth held by 953 million people who make up the bottom 70% of the population.

    Sex Ratio:

    According to “Vital statistics of India based on the Civil Registration System” published by the Registrar-General of India sex ratio of following states is:

    • Arunachal Pradesh recorded 1,084 females born per thousand males followed by Nagaland (965) Mizoram (964), Kerala (963) and Karnataka (957).
    • The worst was reported in Manipur (757), Lakshadweep (839) and Daman & Diu (877), Punjab (896) and Gujarat (897).

    Manual Scavenging:

    • Number of manual scavengers in India had come down from nearly 8 lakh in 2003 to about 13,000 in 2013. Despite Swachh Bharat Mission, this figure shot up to 42,303 in 2018.

    Agriculture:

    • 86 per cent of our farmers cultivate two ha or less.
    • 75-80 per cent borrow credit informally.
    • 70 per cent provide only 4-5 per cent of marketed surplus in wheat and rice, even in surplus states
    • 6-12 per cent sell in mandis.

    Exports:

    • Global merchandise exports stood at almost $18 trillion in 2017 (more than six times India’s GDP) with India commanding an export share of just 1.7 per cent (versus China’s 12.8 per cent).

    Anti-Microbial Resistance:

    700,000 deaths have been reported due to resistant infections worldwide. Antibiotics are estimated to increase body weight by five-six per cent and feed efficiency by 3-4 per cent. By 2030 economic loss due to AMR will be around $ 100 trillion.
