    Access to safe and clean water

    Answering a question in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Jal Shakti stated that around 3.27 crore rural households, of a total of 17.87 crore, get water through pipe connections—so, access to clean, treated and safe water is only available to 18% of India’s rural households.
