The IMF on Tuesday projected an 11.5% growth rate for India in 2021, making the country the only major economy to register double-digit growth this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Growth
THE INDIAN economy will stage a strong rebound and grow as much as 11.5 per cent on year in FY22, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said.
Education access
ASER 2020 has found that children with low parental education are less likely to have a smartphone — 45 per cent as compared to 79 per cent of children with high parental education. Such families are also more likely to send their children to government schools — 84 per cent compared to 54 per cent for children with more educated parents. Further, only 55 per cent of children with low parental education received any learning support at home compared to almost 90 per cent of children with high parental education.
Sex ratio
The ministry of women and child development last week said that 422 out of the 640 districts covered under the BetiBachao, BatiPadhao scheme had witnessed an improvement in sex ratio.
